Making Music Magic

The mission of the Peninsula Folk Club is to provide entertainment and to contribute to the community through the folk genre.

We promote, present, support and develop (acoustic) folk music within our community by providing opportunities for both amateur and professional artists/musicians to perform in a friendly and supportive atmosphere which is inclusive of age, cultures and abilities.

The Peninsula Folk Club (PFC) was formed in 1984 as a non-profit organisation and became incorporated in 1985. Its main aim is to promote Australian, American, English, Irish and Scottish Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Blues, original acoustic music and poetry by providing an open stage for performers and support by people with similar interests in music. Over the years the PFC has evolved to provide workshops on various instruments and song writing. Each year the club runs a song writing competition with substantial prizes offered for the top three songs. The PFC has organised weekend music camps, picking picnics in the park and has provided free entertainment for council and community events.

The PFC has always tried to keep its fees for membership and entry on club nights as low as possible, to enable everyone to join and attend the club functions. Guests are welcome and their entry fee is very reasonable:

* PFC annual membership fees are $15 for an individual and $20 for a family.
* Entry on club nights is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.
* Members receive a monthly newsletter, cheap entry to club events, a subsidised Christmas Party, access to songbooks, social events, and discounts of 10% to 15% from local music shops.

The Frankston City Bowling Club provides light meals and snacks and drinks at bar prices on club nights. Ample car parking is available and the venue has wheelchair access if required.
