Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery posted in Workshop
In recent years the Gatekeepers Cottage has been ‘home’ to over 40 artists in residence at Police Point Shire Park, Portsea. Built in the late 1800s the cottage was originally used by police overseeing quarantine operations in the area. Cameron Robbins is an artist in residence during March/April 2019 and will open the studio doors for visitors. His work Solar Loggerheads is on display in the MPRG foyer in conjunction with the exhibition In the valley. See Cameron’s iconic wind drawing machines and join a workshop where cylindrical marks will be manually drawn from a pen held by a long wire. Amy Yang, the Shire’s Waste & Litter Education Officer, will run a ‘wasted’ sea sculptures workshop and a local expert will discuss useful and edible weeds and plants native to the Mornington Peninsula. Visit the MPRG website for more details about the day.
