Brita Lee

I enjoyed the Writers Block meeting at Frankston Library today, exciting that we are getting our own website!

Most of the paintings in this gallery are for sale, please contact me if you'd like to know more. I love painting portraits - of people, animals and even houses. I work in oils or acrylic on canvas, or pastel on paper. I love experimenting with mixed media. Since moving to Melbourne I've been painting some of the city's iconic buildings and streets. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a commissioned portrait or other style of painting.
I also have artworks for sale on https://bluethumb.com.au/britalee/Art
I'm an author, and published my dystopian science fiction novel 'The Panopticon Deception' in 2014, available on Amazon and Kindle. Check out my author page at www.amazon.com/author/britalee The second book in the Panopticon Trilogy, Code Wildfire, is under way. I'm a member of Writers' Block, a writers group meeting fortnightly at the Frankston Arts Centre, which been a wonderful sharing of inspiration and learning about writers and their writing.
Since discovering Short Filmmaking, I've veered off course into creating a concept/narrative using video, photography and music. My film 'Movement=Freedom=Art' was entered in the Art and Movement exhibition at Cube 37, in the Frankston Arts Centre.
The time I spent in Berlin, Germany over a three year period has been particularly influential on my painting and writing, and connected me with new concepts in painting, as well as a diversity of media beyond painting and sculpture. While there I made a series of 9 mixed media collages, 'Berlin Blogs', and a series of photographs.

I live on the Mornington Peninsula which is within commuting distance of the CBD but close to wild coastlines, and leafy forested hills, so there are always elements of nature to inspire me to paint. My garden always has flowers in bloom inspiring still life pictures.
