The City of Casey is seeking a suitably qualified artist to develop a site-specific artwork for Barton Reserve Public Art Project, Bradman Drive, Cranbourne West. This is an exciting project for the City of Casey, valued at $90K ($90,000 excluding GST).

The successful artist will be awarded the opportunity to design, fabricate and install a permanent artwork at the designated location within the budget and timeframe specified in this brief.

The artwork will respond to the City of Casey’s Public Art Policy, encouraging original Public Art that enhances public space and community facilities in Casey, reflecting aspects of the area’s unique heritage, attributes of local neighbourhoods and aspirations of its communities through a diversity of contemporary art forms.

The artwork will occupy a darker section of the reserve with an adjoining footpath nearby, whilst there will be some spill of light from the sporting fields it is felt that there is a significant opportunity to utilize light in this work as a significant element.
