Colin Smith met Jean Langley in 2013 while researching his book Merric Boyd and Murrumbeena. Early in Jean’s career she painted and decorated Arthur Boyd and John Perceval’s cups and saucers at Murrumbeena Pottery. Through Arthur, Jean met the extended Boyd family and the Heide ‘world’ of John and Sunday Reed. In this illustrated lecture, Colin will outline Jean Langley’s remarkable life, her memories, both happy and sad, and the peace she found in the natural environment living her later years in Mt Martha.
