Join MRPG Director Jane Alexander for a conversation over lunch with two artists featured in Steel: art design architecture. An interdisciplinary artist, Geoffrey Nees has transformed his studio-based paper practice into large scale architectural forms. In 2005, Nees was commissioned to design the façade of the Australian Pavilion for the World Expo, held in Japan. This commission gave Nees the taste for working with steel.

Maureen Faye-Chauhan is an Australian contemporary jewellery artist. Inspired by the natural world, Maureen’s fine, laser- cut steel adornments are derived from the fundamental geometric patterns found within nature’s building blocks.
