Samantha Menzies is a Mornington Peninsula based artist who, alongside her personal art practice, works within the community facilitating a range of art groups and projects. Current and recent employment by Arts Access Victoria, The Royal Children's Hospital Festival of Healthy Living team and the Frankston City Council amongst others, constantly challenges and inspires her which permits a lovely balance between personal and professional satisfaction.
Concerned with keeping the tradition of history and family narrative alive, the artist is interested in exploring the connection between traditional art processes and the passing on of stories through her practice. Not wanting to lock herself into any one particular "label", Samantha enjoys exploring her relationship with a range of mediums and techniques. Most recently, paper and plant fibres, woven and ceramic works have dominated her studio time. The process is as important a part of her practice as the end product.
Samantha gained her Diploma of Visual Art in 2012 from Chisholm TAFE and has been participating in shows since 2010.
